My First Homemade Viking Shield by Super6-4 My First Homemade Viking Shield by Super6-4
I actually made this last August (2014) but never got around to posting a picture of it on here. This is my first attempt, perhaps I will try another this summer. I used plywood and then put a layer of red canvas on top, and then pasted on the design, which is supposed to be 3 wolves forming a triskel! On the rim is dog rawhide which I soaked, unravelled into strips, and secured with upholstery tacks. The boss is from Amazon. On the backside, the handle is actually part of the shaft of a broken sledgehammer. A part of the shaft towards the hammer head was split and so I just took a section off. The screws on the boss there go through the boss, shield, and secure the handle on the other side.

Great. You still on ACG? Have you seen the Most Influential/Significant Fighter campaign? Me 262 vs Spitfire...I voted 262 but hell, if the Spitfire wins I'll be happy lol.

Depends on what perspective. Spitfire was more influential during the war and the Me 262 was more influential post war.

Thanks! It was a fun project. This summer I may make a new Viking shield or make a Gaulish/Celtic scutum (Romans copied from them IIRC) since all that would require is just some straight cuts pretty much, with a power saw, rather than using a jigsaw to cut a round shape.
